ASPR’s core responsibilities include:
- Coordinating emergency response efforts across HHS and with external partners
- Managing the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) and overseeing medical countermeasures
- Supporting public health infrastructure and healthcare system readiness
- Leading continuity of operations and emergency logistics during crises
- Conducting advanced research and development of medical countermeasures through BARDA (Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority)
ASPR’s mission is to save lives and protect Americans during emergencies by fostering a resilient healthcare system and ensuring the nation is prepared for any public health crisis. Their work is guided by science, driven by innovation, and grounded in collaboration.
