ASPR Mission 

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) leads the nation’s medical and public health preparedness, response, and recovery efforts for disasters and public health emergencies. Operating within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), ASPR coordinates across federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners to ensure a rapid, effective response to threats ranging from pandemics and natural disasters to bioterrorism and cybersecurity incidents.

ASPR’s core responsibilities include:

• Coordinating emergency response efforts across HHS and with external partners
• Managing the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) and overseeing medical countermeasures
• Supporting public health infrastructure and healthcare system readiness
• Leading continuity of operations and emergency logistics during crises
• Conducting advanced research and development of medical countermeasures through BARDA (Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority)

ASPR’s mission is to save lives and protect Americans during emergencies by fostering a resilient healthcare system and ensuring the nation is prepared for any public health crisis. Their work is guided by science, driven by innovation, and grounded in collaboration.

• MAJUS provides comprehensive hybrid platform operations support to the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), ensuring secure, efficient integration between cloud-based systems and on-premise infrastructure. The team leads the automation and configuration of AWS environments using infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform, while also maintaining on-premise systems and managing cross-platform interoperability. Key responsibilities include incident response and root cause analysis, platform performance monitoring, system patching and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with federal security frameworks including FedRAMP, NIST, and FISMA. MAJUS also supports capacity planning, disaster recovery, and application integration across ASPR’s platforms, helping maintain a resilient, high-performing IT ecosystem.
